We will work with whatever topic it is you would like your study tour to concentrate on and will do free research for you into possible visits and itineraries.
A sample of topics we have worked with in the past:
• Influences of the Landscape on 19th Century Painters: a tour to Southern France, taking in the landscapes and town of the Provence, so influential in the paintings of e.g. Van Gogh and Cezanne. Includes a tour of Cezanne’s studio and of the Asylum Van Gogh spent a lot of his later days.
In the Footsteps of the Etruscans: a tour going from Rome through Umbria and Tuscany into Florence, discovering Etruscan art, ancient burial places and huge influences of these People on the Roman Empire that absorbed them. Highlights include visiting Orvietto’s Necropolis and the Ancient Museum in Volterra
Higher Education in Europe: a tour to Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany for PhD-students studying the differences in the educational systems within Europe and the US. Including plenty of lectures and college visits.
Theatre and Literature in England: a popular topic for anyone studying the English Language. This tour visits London, Rochester, Bath and Dorset, all with links to famous authors (Charles Dickens, Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy). With backstage theatre tours and private lecture on the Life of Charles Dickens.
Celtic Ireland: a tour taking in al the famous Irish sites, but highlighting the strong Celtic Influences still present in everyday culture. With visits to Kildare and the ‘Flame of Saint Brigid’, ‘Bunratty Folk Park’, King John’s Castle in Limerick and the Irish National Park.
Art & Music in Austria: this tour takes you to the famous Cultural cities of Salzburg and Vienna. Step in the footsteps of famous composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn. Go and listen to musical performances in historic churches and concert halls. Visit the Imperial Palaces of the Hofburg and Schönbrunn and enjoy a culinary experience to a local wine-brewer.
